Breaking News

Hola chic@s!
Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! Spain doesn't really the holiday but they do celebrate el día de los santos November 1st. I saw a few zombies around town but no trick or treaters or crazy costumes to report. Thanks for all of your comments. It was interesting to hear about your learning practices. This week I plan on talking about a piece of local news. I would be interested to see how news hear compares to any breaking local news in Portland. Feel free to find an article that you find interesting to draw comparisons for your responses. Talk to you all soon!

    Hi Jordan.
    Theres not a lot going on here in Portland, but we have been occupied, like in New York. It's been going on for a few weeks, and you've probably heard about it, but my mom was thinking about going, even though she has a job (thankfully). Also, Ms.Calderon showed us a sweet video of this autistic kid who had been helping out his basketball team, when finally his coach let him play in the last game of the season. He scored all three pointers, and got 20 points for is team. It was really cool.

    Hi my names ana, and i want to share a video with you that really touched me. I cried almost every time i watched it ( which was about 30 times). i showed it to everyone i knew, texted all my friends to watch it, and show my parents and sister. I also had maestra calderon share it with our spanis class. It is really sweet, and amazing, andi really think you should watch it.     Hola Jordan.
    No hay mucho pasando en Portland, pero estaba ocupado, como Nueva York. Estaba pasando por unas semana, y tu probablamente oíste del situación. También, Sra.Calderon mostró un video de un chico autística que fui ayudando su equipo de baloncesto, y durante el fin juego del temporada, su entrenador dijiste que puedo jugar en el juego. El chico hacían todo 3 pointers, y anoto 20 puntos para su equipo.

    Hi Jordan,
    The only thing I can think of that is happening in Portland at the moment is the protest. There are a bunch of people camping out in down town with tents and tarps. Sometimes they even block the streets and the police have to come and get them out of the streets. I don't know how long this is going to go on for, but it will be interesting to see what happens next.

    Hi Jordan,
    The weather has been a little cold these days. And the protest has been going on now for like 3 or 4 weeks. A lot of people are sleeping there with sleeping bags and tents. I have no idea what will happen next I just hope that people protest nd control themselves.

    I dont have a name or any thing specific really but a tv show i was watching had a show that i was suprised to find on it was about how the brain works. It said that autistic people are often the best at what THEY do. Like one young man had autism and was blind yet he could play any song you made him listen to on his first try listening only once on the piano. Another was a drummer who had a disability that made his body twitch and pause its actions at will. not his. But when he drummed he could play miraculous singles or keep up with any guitarist

    No hay mucho pasando en Portland en este momento. Creo que todavía los protestores en down town portland estan alli. ? En alicante no se celebra el día de los muertos el primer y el segundo de noviembre? ?Comó se celebra el día de los santos en españa?

    HEY jORDAN! HERE IS SOME STUFF I CAN TELL YOU: THE NBA LOCK OUT IS STILL HAPPENING. DOCTOR cONRAD mURPHY IS STILL IN TRIAL FOR KILLING mICHAEL jACKSON. MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ARRESTED IN THE OCCUPY PORTLAND PROTEST- ITS STILL GOING ON. DO YOU LIKE SOCCER? THE tIMBERS DIDNT MAKE IT TO THE PLAYOFFS BUT OUR RIVALS- SEATTLE SOUNDERS- WERE ELIMINATED BECAUSE OF REAL SALT LAKE. AND THE oREGON sTATE bEAVERS ARE PLAYING STANFORD UNIVERSITY TOMMOROW.

    Thanks and i did have a good Halloween i got lots of candy and for Halloween i was a bunny and in Alicante Halloween is much different so i can see at what you wrote.
